However, changing the background color of a photo can have a dramatic effect on its appearance, and one of the finest tools for doing this is Adobe Photoshop, although there are some great options.  Whether you have a the full version or a free trial, there are a few different methods you can use to do so. Changing the background in Photoshop before creating a new image is the fastest way to set it to your preference.

How to change color in Photoshop background?

When you create a new document file in Photoshop, you will have the option to choose its background color.  Use your drop-down menu or color selection box to select the color you would like for the background.  How to change background color in Photoshop? When you are create a new image, it will be your choice as the background color. Photoshop CC 2018 and later will have that option in the lower right corner of the new document window.  In earlier versions of Photoshop, it would be located under the window. When you're done drawing around your background, connect to the starting point or press Ctrl + click to finish it.  If you're using a Windows 10 tablet, holding down the screen will give you the option to right-click, which opens a context menu with additional features.

Some other important information!!

When selecting using either of the above methods, if the background is much larger than the foreground, pick the foreground instead, then press Ctrl + Shift + I to invert your selection and highlight the background. How to change background color in Photoshop? This will maintain the same light levels as before, but the overall color palette will change. If you will have a more uniform color for the background, you can remove it first and then add it back before adjusting the hue. 

To do this, press Ctrl + Shift + U to convert the image to grayscale, then open the Hue and Saturation menu as before.  Choose Colorize to add a color to the background, then use the Hue slider to adjust its color.

However, use the color palette based on the menu on the left to select your background color, then select within your selection to create an empty color.  If you want a gradual effect on your background, select and hold the Fill Tool to give the gradient cube option, then select and drag within your selection to create a gradient color for your new background, respectively.
